Motto: Assisting Children to Reach Their Full Potential Each and Every Day
What is ABA?
ABA stands for Applied Behavior Analysis.
Cooper, Heron, and Heward (2007) defined ABA as, " The science in which the principles of the analysis of behavior are applied systematically to improve socially significant behavior and experimentation is used to identify the variables responsible for behavior change. "
In simplified terms, ABA is the use of procedures that produce positive behavior change that is meaningful.
The types of behavior change can vary across a variety of areas such as: problem behavior (tantrums, crying, aggression), communication (speaking, signing, using an alternative augmentative communication device, Picture Exchange Communication System), functional living skills (cooking, tying shoes, potty training, feeding, etc.), social skills, etc.
Our Mission Statement:
American Behavioral Consulting is devoted to providing effective, ethical, and individualized applied behavior analysis treatment for children.
